configuring an IP on centos / redhat

I was used to using ubuntu so this was a bit different

sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/network
set hostname and default gateway

sudo vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
set up and IP on the interface

service network restart
